I have a bunch of off-the-air TV on DVD-R ... in eight-hour chunks. :( I wanna whittle them down to episodes and cut out the commercials, then remaster the DVD's.

So far I see DVDx to convert the VOB's to AVI, and then Virtual Dub, to cut them up. I can then remaster them in Sonic DVD Architect, as I happen to have a copy of same.

Any other suggestions, easier ways, free tools, and/or FAST solutions appreciated.
