Yup. Hopefully I can get back on the range within a few weeks with no wind and recheck the zeros. Though the last time we qualified, we had the same wind, same direction.

Hell I was dealing with crosswinds yesterday. In a WAY scarier way. Driving the Burb down the PA Turnpike at 80 MPH and getting smacked by random crosswinds is NOT fun, not after 5 hours of it

yeah, but at least with a '16 you can adjust for it all with a toss of a few blades of grass... Like golf... just a bigger target and smaller projectile. =)

I still want an m4 SOPMOD... but I dont have $3000

Be thrifty. An M4 would be nice, but..........................................

You can buy a Bushmaster (what I have) or something similiar for around $700. Even though you don't really need the barrel with the identation to fit a 203, they have them now. Mine doesn't and I don't see myself getting a 203 anywhere down the road, I don't think people would be happy with me lobbing 203 rounds into Bunny Town.

As for the handguards with rails, while they look cool, would you really need them? Do you need all of those high priced optics? ACOG's are cool, but pricey. I have a $70 ACOG 4x knockoff on my AR and it works just fine. You can buy them with the collapsible stocks, I spent $90 to get one from Rock River Arms and took me all of 10 minutes to put it on; not to mention it's easy to take off when you have to take the gun apart because you are using a crappy magazine.

Necessity outweighs wants. Spend what you need to spend, not what you want to spend. In the end, you'll have more money for ammo :D

Thing is, I'm not looking to buy it for a toy or even a hunting rifle, but just to have one.

I have an SKS that I can shoot as well as Jed Clampett (flies off their wall at 100 yards with a shotgun) so having the AR isn't as important to me now as it was when I was in High School... also, after being in the Marines, and shooting an M-16 for 4 years, I don't even want to touch one ever again... the new A3 is awesome, as they changed the gas system, but the original M16A2 gas system caused all sorts of problems...

I was an armorer... it SUCKS to clean them things. I like the functionality of the M16 line in general, but they are just too inconsistent for my to want to buy one now. On the other hand, a Match grade AR would look nice next to my Dragunov Yugo SKS.... all i need for that is a POSP scope. I'm also looking to buy a real Dragunov Sniper Rifle soon, but other things have taken priority... like this damn truck.

By the way, I don't need the 203 barrel... I have a Yugo... it's already got a grenade launcher on it, and it will put a Tennis ball 200 yards down range. =)

Sorry, don't believe it. Never seen a Yugo run for 200 feet, much less 200 yards.

    :haha: :haha: :haha:

Way back when, b4 the flat tops came out, I cut an A1's carry handle off and then screwed and JB'd a one piece Rem 760 mount on the top of it. Bought a 1:9 HBAR barrel and built a pierced sheet metal round forearm for it. Have a Burris 18x waiting. Have yet to paper it. About the time I got it built KA's first black rifle ban came around. Need to buy a 'legal' receiver instead of using the HBAR's, and build it into a whole rifle. I'll guess I'm into it about $300 so far.

I've always heard that the cause of "Oklahoma Wind" is that Kansas sucks, and Texas blows :ignore: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Having lived in both these states, I can verify those claims.
