Ok.... I was with my mom yesterday driving home from church and as we were getting on the freeway guess what she points out... it's a silver PT Cruiser... but it's lifted and got 31's under it!!! How scary is that? Has anyone else seen something like this...? I hope this isn't a new trend because it was bugly as can be.... /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

That would be such a waste. I would however like to see one tubbed out and have a big ol blown Hemi under the hood.

I must admit...the PT Cruisers are pretty cool...There is one I see every once in awhile in Fremont that is black and has wood paneling on it. Kinda like an old 50's woody. Look's pretty cool.

No offense because it is and it sucks... I like the PT Cruiser look but my gosh I am gonna carry my camera around now if I see it again I will snap a pic. I work at a school site nearby so if they live in the area my chances are good....

Me, too. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif I just hate those cars.

Just another vehicle to add to the list of ugly cars, such as the Avalanche and Aztec. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

PT Cruisers rule... but lifted? bah. Lowered an inch or two and some cool engine upgrades might make it a pretty cool modified rig, but lifted? pfffft! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Someday I wanna get a PT for my commute-around car (then my truck can go off-road only!). Of course, I'll need a decent job first. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

PT's suck! They are over priced and people think that they are getting something cool but its just a neon with a little grave digger body. They even have PT clubs. Maybe I should start a Chevy Trailblzer club because my wife drives one.
A lifted one painted like the Grave Digger might be cool if it powered by a Hemi.

You have to give Chrysler credit for at least trying something different.

<font color=blue> Custom Painters love the PT Cruiser ! They say it looks great in any color you can squirt on it ! I don't agree with those who say it's the modern day hot rod though !

&gt; PT's suck! They are over priced

wha? IMO the PT Cruiser is the coolest new car you can get for under $30k... and the top end PT is only like $20k. I mean, there are cars that have better performance (0-60 or whatever) for less, but I'm just talking about how cool the car is (IMO, of course). You don't need to add anything to a PT... it starts out cool. I mean, ya might wanna add a phat stereo, but other than that, its cool stock. I can't even say that about my Jimmy.

&gt; and people think that they are getting something cool

... and those peeps would be correct!

&gt; They even have PT clubs

there are clubs for everything, why not the PT? Its a legitemately cool car, unlike the neon.

&gt; Maybe I should start a Chevy Trailblzer club because my
    &gt; wife drives one.

    there prolly already is one...

&gt; A lifted one painted like the Grave Digger might be cool if it
    &gt; powered by a Hemi.

PTs should NOT be lifted... if anything they should be lowered. We agree in the hemi tho... /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

sorry to rain on the parade of those that actually like the pt cruiser... BUT... they are the worse rated car in crash tests... also the roof was originally designed to cave in and not up in a crash... if they havent already changed that design then its just a big piece of metal looking for a head to cut off in a crash...

on looks.. i will give crystler that much.. it looks ok i guess... i find it funny how the put so much time and money into the front of the car and then it looks like they took a knife and just cut the ass end off of it... pretty damn lame looking from the back...

But hey.. that is just my opinion on the subject...

I was at the SEMA show in vegas and there was a PT crusier that was modified. it had a viper engine stuffed in it and the back was cut off to make a bed, but it was only 8" deep. Suicide doors, 20" wheels on the back 18" on the front. still was a very impresive ride and they did a good job on it. It could be yours for only 60,000$ .... BAHAHAHAHA
Some people just have too much money and time?
