well my truck just got towed away. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif the brakes are bad i guess but we replaced both front rotors, calipers and pads. my dads mechanic is going to take a look at it further to see why they still dont work. i got a feeling that theres a leak in the brake line that runs to the rear brakes.

well i got yet another call from the mechanic and he said my axle shafts is shot and suggested i take a stroll on by to take a gander at them. so i do. oh man i forgot how much i hate the smell of diff fluid. sickning. but any ways he goes over every thing with me that i would need and gave me a list cause i told him i knew of a few yards that had 10 bolts lying around. heres what i need
right rear axle shaft (bearings ground it down hardcore)
    pinion shaft (shot)
    pinion gears (showing wear)
and side gears to match the pinion gear
so ima have a fun time huntin this shtuff down. just thought i let yall know whats up in case you cared or sumthin /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif let the scavenger hunt begin

DON'T, I repeat DON'T waste your time looking for those individual parts.

Go to a junkyard and pick up a whole new 10 bolt assembly for $100 (if even that much). Look for one in better condition than yours and swap it in....you'll spend WAY less $$$ than buying all of those individual parts and paying a mechanic to install them. Setting up gears and stuff is labor intensive, and labor intensive = big money.

hell dont bother with another 10 bolt rear. try to find a 12b or 14b with the same gears, its only a matter of time before another 10 bolt bites the dust. i strongly reccommend you try to find a bigger rear end.

I agree. I was going to suggest that as well, but you have to take into account the need to buy new wheels then too.

we wnt and looked at a few yards today and the owners want at least 125 for em. so we are going to take that into account and my dads mechanic is going to search around some more tomorrow. i have a 14 bolt but its kinda really tore down and doesnt have the same gears. it would take a long time for me to get it ready to be driveable. unless and body has a set of 3.42 gears for a front 10 bolt.
