Gonna pick up the 60 tomarrow [IMG][IMG] and want everythin to get it bolted up as soon as possible. I've already got the steering block, and spring plates. what size bolts to go in to the one side of the pumpkin and do i get a certain grade? u-bolts? do i need to get new brake lines, where can i find a hub socket for it, can i use the same hub socket for the rear? anything else i'm missing?

    Thanks

    Dan

Dan, the front u-bolts will require:

    (2) 3 1/4" i.d. x however long you need x round bend
    (1) 4" i.d. x however long you need x round bend
    (2) 5/8" grade 8 bolts x however long you need

    All u-bolts are a 5/8" rod.

New brakelines depend on the amount of lift and whether your stock axle now is a 10 bolt front or not. If it's the D44, the banjo bolts are bigger than the D60.

Hub socket is bigger and different than the rear.

Pep-girls, autozoned, napa, any real parts store really. I got a set of hub sockets at the last show for $30, included hub sockets for the D60, D44, and 10b.

Yep, you can reuse the stock lines, no problem. [IMG]

Hub sockets are found at just about any parts stores. I got all mine from Snap-On. Little spendy, too, at around $35 per socket.

you know I just bought a hub socket yesterday as a matter of fact. It was made by OTC and is part # 7158.

What does it take to put a Dana 60 in place of a GM 10 bolt? I have a 1990 3/4 Ton Suburban.
    1. Steering changes
    2. U joints
    3. Spring changes
    4. Brake lines
What concerns do you have when making the change?

    It's a wheelbase thing, you wouldn't understand.

This is what I've had to buy to bolt it up---
steering block (like the steering arm for 1/2 and 3/4 ton) but different. spring plates--where the sway bar goes, had to buy from dealer at $53 a peice. and all the stuff Wes listed above

You can remove the studs and use bolts. If you order the u-bolt kit from ORD it will include the 2 bolts you need.

    See <a target="_blank" href=http://coloradok5.com/gallery/Waynes-Toy>Project Mighty Mouse</a> here.
