We got some serious wheelin today in Las Cruses at Broad canyon. Marv_Springer came down for the week w/ some friends and relatives. Needless to say i only took a few of the f*%$@in Marv lines/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif. we think we worked out some of the bugs of the springer setup combined w/ the ORD flip---cause we got some SERIOUS flex outta the rear of my truck, so much so i broke the steering box almost completly off. it was held on barly by 2 bolts and completly borke off one of the feet. Id like to thank Marv, Duane, and John for the trail fix and the spotting/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Ok, spill it, what did you have to do to loosen it up? You were getting some bind due to frame twist, right? Or am I getting this confused with someone else?

Killer pics man! Marv's rig is the only other green and white k5 I've seen on these boards. It's kinda funny to see a truck that looks like mine in a state of torture like that. Check out my link below to see what Marv's probably once looked like /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

well, actually most of the pictures were of my good side. and even then the tires were stoipping on the "bed". i actually mounted the trac bar too high and that was the cause of the passanger side not drooping all the way. I still get LOTS of frame flex look at this pic

look how the cab is straight (kinda) but look at the bumper and tool box.

Ahhh yes.... that was a FUN trip...!

Hung out for a week in the general "Las Cruces/ El Paso" area..... After 4 days of hittin' some quality Rock trails and 2 days of "tacking it out" in the Sand Dunes, I guess I satisfied my "off road" craving for a couple of weeks. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

It wasn't my week for tires, as I was at Discount Tire using up my "road hazard" warranties for 3 new ones! And on the drive home, I realized that I had a vibration problem.... Hoped it was a bent rim - but it looks to be a bent rear axle shaft in that 220k mi 12 bolt....! Good thing it bent instead of broke.

    ScoobyDann and Hispanic Panic,
Thanks for the wheelin' trips...! I still can't believe that I made it up that climb at the end of that trail /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    Greg72,
Yes, those door dings are a pain, aren't they...!

    BadDog,
Danny's ride "had" (I say had because I know that you changed springs) an advantage over yours because of the Ford Springs. His frame flexes more than yours too...

    MudStud,
Those "cherry Blazer" pics crack me up....! When I first started with mine, it almost looked that good!

    Marv
