You guys know what im talking about.. the lever that you pull to open the eninge... well, mine never came with the vertical plastic thing.. so its like a square metal stick coming out.. and its a pain to open the engine cuz you have to grip the lil metal thing... anyone know where i can get a plastic thing and how to attach it... or anyway i can ghetto rig something that might not look so ghetto? LoL thanks

You mean the hood release latch? Try a wrecking yard...or the parts wanted board.

Not sure what your saying...did the cable break? A friend of mine had the cable break, and you had to reach way up in the dash and pull the cable to open it. We found a black handle for it, tied it on and it works perfectly now.

Go to your local GM dealership. You can't get just the plastic
T-handle piece. You get a whole new cable assy all the way
to the hood latch. Grease that latch when you are installing
your new cable and you won't break it again.-Jim

Yeah pull one off a wrecked one (if too little time to get the whole assembly) and put a plastic bag over the square end. Push the "new" handle over it, then trim the bag ends off. It will stay on there pretty good.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

if it's bare metal just get a small piece of metal tubing throw a few tacks around it and when it cools put some plastic caps on the ends. voila, my 2cents.

LMC has the cable with handle for about 16.00.
