I was recently at AutoFab in San Diego and they should me their new motor mounts w/ poly bushings.. he showed how stock mounts can really flex.. the new mounts don't flex and they help tie in the frame rails... It seemed to me this would also help with the flex and cracking of the tranny housing that are comman with our trucks..
I plan on putting them after the first of the year...

I am not totally convinced that stiffer is necessarily better, but I'm going to probably run poly all around.

I was also wondering if they would help the problem with breaking tranny hosings. did auto fab mention the price for the motor mounts?

He did mention that it would stiffen up the whole drivline... causing the torque of the engine to be routed throuh the frame vice allowing the motor to twist.. I beleive this would reduce the flex placed on the tranny housing.. I just checked his site and the mounts for 73-87 they are $160.00 and 88-up $170.00... His web site has pics..

I also heard if you're running poly on the transfer case/tranny mounts you'd want them for the motor mounts too. Is this true? I have poly in the rear and rubber up front. Will this cause a problem? Thx
