Well I went to NAPA today to get a few parts. I wanted to pick up an Optima Red top but they do not sell them. The guy tried to sell me an Exide Orbital. I have never heard of it. Are they any good?...and more importantly...How do they compare to the Optima? What do you guys think?

    That's because I'm the devil.

I have a orbital in my s-10. It works great. It has all the same features as the optoma.

They are supposed to be the same thing/interchangable ?
Maybe they are the rejects from Optima, put into a different case, and label.
99.9XX % pure lead is exspensive, and costly to produce.
    Good luck
P.S. if you find out for sure/written sorcue please post back the sorcue, others what to know.

I myself would never get anything but an Optima... I run one in my 300ZX TT and I can notice the difference between others... I say stick with optima and find it somewhere else... the best is the best...

I'v never had very good luck with Exide batteries. They have left me sitting one to many times. My advise is to Stick with the Optima. I think they are better quality.

    Try this place (and others):
    American Battery Co.
    3488 Arden Rd.
    Hayward Ca

    I purchased a yellow top for $146.97.
It might be worth your drive if the best price you find is the 17x.00

I just bought an Exide. My dad has had Optimas but had a problem twice, once in his hot rod and once in his motorhome. But they were both replaced no questions asked and he has not had any problems since. I just got a better deal with the Exide.

Exides plain out stink IMO. Ever since they took over Die Hard they have gone down the toliet too. I would suggest going w/ an altima or else Interstate makes their own spiral batteries w/ the same features. Either find a place near you that sells them or I can talk to our vender and get a number for you to order one/get one from someone in your area.
