my dad just got a flowmaster 50 series cat back system put on his expedition, now my suburban needs to be louder than his expedition. is dual exhaust louder than single? i know i want flowmaster 50 series mufflers but i don't know how to be just a little bit louder than my dad. will headers help? cuz if so, that's cool because i'm getting some doug thorley try-Ys from my uncle. but 3" pipe would be louder than 2.5" right? he has 3" from the catalitic converter back, and i wanna go with 3" all the way.

Headers will make it louder on its own. As for exhaust dual 2.5" will be louder than a 3" single. Dual 3" would be even louder, but would kill low end power.

With dual 3" pipes you have little back pressure and you have no low end power and maybe see some gains up top. If dual exhuast go with 2.5 if single go 3"

Forget the mufflers and straight pipe it with 2.5" duals. Then it'll wake the dead. :)

I'm usually not a fan of straight pipes but I think I'm becoming one with all the kids around here getting 2 1/2" exhaust and bending straights. A nice deep tone that's pretty loud, but very little to no cracking/snapping which is annoying.

If you want it louder than the straigh pipes run one chamber flowmasters. We found out that they are louder than straight pipe. Go figure.

Really? No cracking and snapping either? That'd be perfect!

What I've been looking for forever is, a DEEP sounding throaty exhaust that is loud enough to hear in the cab of a pickup when your foot is really in it, even if the windows are up. I thought straights were the only answer!!

Will it deliver? I know 1 chambers aren't cheap, so don't steer me wrong!!
