.....and before anyone even asks....NO! the aluminum adapter "thingie" is NOT included. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The case is rebuilt with all new seals, bearings, and input shaft (32-spline) setup for a TH400 tranny, but as you can see, there are an extra set of "plugged" holes on the adapter side. By pulling those plugs, I'm willing to bet this also bolts right up to a TH350....though someone else will have to confirm that. This case has never been installed, so it is just as "NEW" as one you'd buy for full price from ORD..... just cheaper! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

First preference (and dibs) will go to any "local" buyer to save me the shipping hassles. If there is no local interest it is open to anyone willing to pay the shipping.

$300. (or some other offfer I can't refuse!)

Greg, you gonna use your own range box? Thought you would just install it as is.

    Greg,
Im kinda new to 4X4 and I was wondering what is th edifrence between this box and a regular 203. My transfer cace is in bad shape and needs a replacement. I was thinking of a dobbler dont know yet. but if this will work for me Im interested in it.
    Thanks Earl

    Re: \"ORD-Built\" NP203 Rangebox (w/ PICS!!)

    Hey Earl,

This is probably a little confusing.... what I'm calling a "203" is only about 1/2 of an original NP203 assembly.

For doubler setups, a factory 203 is disassembled and the other half of the rangebox (with the chaindrive) is discarded. The "gear side" of the box is retained and bolted to the ORD doubler plate, and then connects to the NP205 (which then provides the outputs to your front and rear driveshafts.

So the "short" answer, is that what is pictured here would NOT be a bolt-in replacement NP203 for you. Bummer. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I have a 205 here at the house that has somthing broke in it it will not lock the front in . I could use it what else would I need to make your 203 a dobbler.

    Earl,

You're still going to need a complete, working NP205 to build a doubler....

My guess is that you're first step is to get your 205 repaired (or replaced) so that you can start driving again....then start the planning for a doubler conversion later.

Doublers are COOL, but it's not a trivial swap. You need all new driveshafts, potentially need to swap input/output shafts to make everything 32-spline...build/ retrofit crossmembers, etc. It's not unreasonable to expect that the "doubler" project could run you $2000 by the time you add up all the costs..... /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

.....are you SURE you want to dive in that far right away?

Im building a hole new drive trian for it wright now. going to a 14bolt rear D60 front and I traded one of my trans ams for the body and paint work. The new axles will already make me have to get new shafts so I may as well do it all now and get it over with. Im tired of it braking when Im playing.
