    ORD Greasable 1/2\" Bolts

UPS just delivered them today. Just waiting on the Hill 4Wheel Drive shackles till they go on. My question is, what type of grease should i grease the greasable shackles with?

    Thanks
    Joe

I would use a waterproof grease like the ones that you would pump into a boat trailer bearing. probably go to a marine shop in your local area and ask them what they recommend for boat trailer axle bearings.

Just got my BDS 4" lift and am very interested in the ORD greasable bolts. Will they work with any lift kit or what mods are needed.

    gassman -
Call OffroadDesign, they are very helpful. I believe you have to order new shackles though, to utilize the 1/2" bolts b/c you stock bolts are smaller.

Does anyone know if these will work with the ORD shackle flip kit, and 4" skyjacker springs?

Does anyone worry about shearing the hollow (greasable) shackle bolts? I wonder, since I once sheared a solid shackle bolt on the front of my crewcab dually. I am leery of hollow bolts for this reason, and besides, a crewcab dually isn't meant to articulate anyways, right? LOL!!

Ken, did this happen before or after you launched the crew cab 30 feet in the air over a sand dune? [IMG]

AMSoil makes a synthetic grease that will not mix with water, breakdown due to heat or become bubblegum in cold weather. Been using it for 17 years. Works wonders in wheel bearings.
