I have yet to put on this kit cause I need to my 85 k-10
as a daily driver for now and I plow with it as well.I have the kit sitting in my tool box waiting the install.
My bushings are so bad right now that the eyes are resting against the frame. Does anyone have any install tricks..i.e.
best place to put the jack and drilling for the larger bolts as well. Any help would be appreciated.

bolts shouldn't need to be drilled.

get the frame supported real good, a jack under the pumpkin and a rubber mallet. took me about 4 hours to break off my old ones and get the new ones in.

No drilling required, just take it apart and put it back together.

I just chocked the wheels, put the jack on the frame just behind the shackle and lifted that side of the truck until there wasn't a whole lot of pressure on the spring bolts, and replaced the shackles. Took about a half hour. Put a jackstand under the frame so if the jack gives way it doesn't drop on your hands. Worst case scenario, even without the shackle there the truck will sit fine with the spring against the frame (just in the driveway of course).
