It has come to my attention through friends and people here ther are alot of Blazers, Burbs, and Trucks here. I have kicked it around for quite some time and even asked if CK5 would like a PNW chapter. So I have come up with this. Im thinking about forming a pretty active club/group for us. I would want to find someone who could draw so I can get some magnetic badges and such for our vehicles. I am debating on wether to make it pay or not to join. Im thinking not depeding if we do alot or need to spend alot. I need help with a name for it to. Our base of course will be this site. Its great. I couldn't own a blazer and not use this site. It has helped me so many times. Anyhow We need a name. I was thinking "Pacific Northwest TrailBLAZERS" This group would be open to all who owned a Blazer, Burb, or possibly if we have a lot of interest Chevy Trucks. I already have a killer art idea for the badging just need to talk to someone who draws drawings like the CK5 logo. This club/group would span from Canada to the Borders of California. It would involve camping, wheelin in other area than Oregon like Washington and Lower Canada. It would be diverse as to people like me who have time to build websites and organize but not able to get out every weekend due to family or work. I would set up our own site. Buy a domain name for our group and post any and all photos of all runs including trail reports and such. Im serious abotu this. I have run a dues based club before and did really well. Cars even showed up in the Coliseum on display once. Anyhow give me ideas. I knowmudhog is for it, so is BlazininOr is to. Im thinking the first run we do. Will be to long beach to just hang out get to know one another eat and oh yes wheel up the beach. I wll bring all my nice camera gear to to take some seriously nice frameable shots of anyone who wants their vehicle shot. Give me a group/club name, and suggestions of organization. This is a full size organization. No deer trails our canyon foot paths type runs.

sounds like good times. being an architecture major, I should be more of an artist, but I'm really not. lol. I dunno, during spring break i could help with the logo, depending on what you wanted.

I dont have a lot of time for meetings and poop, nor do I have lots of $$$ for dues (tho, I might be willing to pay some depending on the benes)... but I would like to wheel with local full-size peeps instead of the standard jeep guys! doing the work-on-our-rig days thing every once in a while would be cool to. I am still way pist that I missed the last one. Maybe if I explain to all my professors just how important 'wheeling is, they'd understand... yeah right! ;) at any rate, sounds like a plan BK!

Re: PNW new group or possibly club

Well the Dues thing really is just an idea. I mean it would be up to the group as a Majority vote. Yes we would have gatherings regularly to crunch ideas and work on our vehicles. Me being the commercial manager at schucks, I have access to some seriously cool stuff. As for the design. Something Characture like. the logo was going to have a mountain in the background with a stream that flow along side a Blazer which is crushing a jeep like vehicle. And the redneck looking guy has a sh^&t eating grin and a thumbs up for flattening this jeep like vehicle signifying full sizes are superior. Blazer would be Blue or Green or yellow or something that contrasts really well with vehicle colors and then whatever name we liked. CK5 is our home and will never desert it or not support it. Its too awesome of a site, but we need something local that is for fullsizes period and it carries the bow tie badging. Once this is established I will also link us with all the four wheel magazines and e magazines on the net so we will get more members. I will start a discussion group email based maybe on yahoo as we could use yahoo messenger to chat with each other. Ideally I would love for our group to have at least one TTC entry for 2003.

Well Im in the PNW. 20 miles south of seattle to be exact. Your idea sounds awsome and I would be truly interested but I own a chevy pickup and not a blazer so I guess it doesnt do me any good. Does anyone know of any Chevy Truck clubs in my area? I have an 96 Z71 and would be interested in a club in my area.

If you didnt build it, it isnt really yours.........

I think the idea of this club is to get people from CK5 in a local club, not to limit it to just blazers. Anyone should be able to join the club. CK5 is just a good starting point to get some local members together.

I am up for a club for full-sizes in the PNW area. Just don't use the name TrailBlazers. It reminds me to much of the new Sport Utility Sport WAGON that Chevy is now producing. Keep me informed.

well im up for a PNW club thing, but dont care to brand bash,i think anything fullsize is exclusive enough.me personally,i usually run with the jeeps, cause i cant seem to find any other fullsize people who are willing to get a few dents to run the tough trails.my rig is far from pretty or strait.if a club was started and was brand bashing than we would be no differentthan the PNW4WDA,they should call it the PNW4Wjeep assoiation.they dont seem to worry about any other brand than the jeepers.thats why im not a member.i live in puyallup area and would love to find other fullsizes to wheel with and hang out with.

Re: PNW new group or possibly club

I am all for forming a club gear'd towards full sized rigs. However I have to agree with 55Willy, the name and logo might make us look like brandists. ( I just invented that word [IMG]) And I don't think that is what Dan had in mind. He, like the rest of us, is just a chevy lover. I think everyone should be welcome, just that trail runs and such are gear'd towards full sized rigs. As far as names go, here are a few options:

PNWCK5
(obvious)

PNWFST
(Pacific North West Full Size Trucks)

PNWFSR
(Pacific North West Full Size Rigs or/Rides)

PNWFWD
(Pacific North West Four Wheel Drive)

PNWORC
(Pacific North West Off Road Club)

etc. etc. etc....

Some of these might all ready be taken, we would need to double check. Anyone else have some ideas? In anycase the final name should be voted in. I also think using ColoradoK5.com in small letters under whatever we choose would be a good Idea. I believe that Steve is considering making a forum for area clubs right now. Anyhow I am sure we can all find something that will work for all of us.

Mike.

Re: PNW new group or possibly club

I feel this ought to be a split - Oregon and Washington, as was once proposed. Reason is veryyyy few times can even the Oregon guys get together, let alone WITH the Washington guys. Not to say we couldn't meet up, it could like a 'sister/brother club' thing. This would keep the PNW out of it, kinda am tired of the whole comparison to Jeeps - do not read that as trying to alienate Jeep or Toy or Nissan guys, just that, as said above, the PNW4WDA is almost EXCLUSIVELY Jeep guys and stuff. Besides, what is wrong with keeping this BLAZER/JIMMY based? There are over 28 local's between Oregon and Washington that I have on my list, and more we can recruit. So let's set ourselves apart with an Oregon based name - signifying maybe a Mt. Hood/Beach/Forest theme, with clear ties to CK5 (if and when Steve gives his blessing, which he has not yet), like under the main name 'a regional club of ColoradoK5.com'.

Anyway, my $.02

Nope no braqd bashing just a drawing to some and other something else. Me myself im amazed at all the cool stuff one can get for a jeep. I mean my summit catalog had like 10 pages. of really cool stuff for jeeps. Same thing with JC whitney and even JEGS. Only thing I was making clear is that we are a full size group/ club whatever and will not be shooting for trails or excluding full size vehicles from trails or events.

Yep i agree there to. That is why I usually go with mostly full sizes on my runs and have particiapted with too big broncos because they are a full size group with a few non full size vehicles.

Cool word. but the logo is only an idea. we could make whatever its parked on a non brand vehicle and flat enough noone could really tell or maybe i dunno going through a mudbog or up a clif like Mt Hood? :) See these are only ideas. EVERYBODY gets to form and subit ideas and we vote on them. This is a democracy not a dictatorship. Everybody voice ie heard and majority rules.

Well this is what I would like from our whatever we form.mostly fullsizes, all full size runs with some having the option of taking some seriously scary trails on their own violition. But what I would like to see is more getherings hanging out, pizza runs, show shine around town like the motorcycle clubs are doing today. shining up their bikes and forming massive convoys driving in a set route. that would be fun. Have us show up in formation to SOLV events. Shop up in force at moab, representing our clan, group, club, particating in cajrity drives for the community. involving our group in search and rescue missions. stuff likes this. Have snow runs maybe our own christmas tree run , truck show and so on . See these are ideas what do you think?

Re: PNW new group or possibly club

Franks has some great points and yes the idea of having someone running a Washington Based group, club whatever is a great idea and we could have hostings of wheellin trips. Oregon could host Washinhgton and so on. Id love to go wheelin up around Mt St Helens and see the devastation non seen from the observatory and or pathways or walking trails. So "I" who are all are in favor of a Washington divison of this whatever we form say "I" opposed "NEY" something like that. Franks is right here we are um treated a bit different with our full sizes matter in fact even some late comers with came to the gathering were really itimidated by all the full size rigs he even said so. "wow I wouldnt want to go wheelin with all these fullsizes, wouldnt be any trail left" quote un quote. This is typical repsonse I get. Even where I have all my driveline work done my Blazer is treated like a "Bastard child" To high to wide and functionless compared to what the jeeps can do. its not the shop owners that say these things it s the jeep owners that come in there to have work done on their hunting fishing vehicles. Even full size bronco owners catch heat. So it would be nice to have a group or such that is formed on full sizes. Bowties would be great but if there are Fords Dodges full sizes who want to hang with us that great to. but this is a fullsize, full size based community. The only thing I have against jeeps is they get all the cool stuff and we fullsizers (new word, Heavymetal got be started)have to fabricate everything.
