I'm looking for a place to mount some switches for when I start my upgrade. I've came to the conclusion that I will go with the shelf that mounts to the visor mount, or a overhead center console. What my question is: Does anybody have one, and how much vision does it obstruct. Do you have to relocate your rearview mirror, how hard would it be to fabricate this on one's own? And over all, what is your opinion of the product? I have seen that Summit racing sells one, and would most likely go that route.

    Thanks,

    corey

I had one of those shelfs that mounted to the visor mounts. I took it out because it just collected junk. Tapes, bionoculars, bullets, knives, They all went flying out of the thing as soon as I hit a bump or climbed a hill . And anything that was up there rattled like crazy. I couldn't put my sun visors back on because they hung down in my feild of vision. All and all I did not like it. I'm just glad I did not pay for it. My neighbor gave it to me. He got a good laugh and said "That thing is a real POS ain't it" when he saw me taking it out. I ended up giving it away to some other unsuspecting soul.

i've got one, and i dig it. it's got a small center section with a coin holder, and a sunglass/garage-opener spot. i'm gonna pull out the sunglass door, and mount my CB, and i'm replacing the coin holders with a row of switches.
normally, you can remount your visors, and they'll work, but i have an extended wink mirror, so i left the visors off.
i'll go find the digital camera here at work, and if one of y'all will walk me through posting it somewhere, i'll do that.
or maybe i can e-mail it to you.
and yeah, i have to empty the shelf when i wheel, but it gives loads of storage, or holds just a few important items. and leaves your center console to fill up with other junk!

Ya that would be great. If you get a chance, you can send them to corey.perez@seymourjohnson.af.mil Thanks again. It sounds like you and I are about on the same line.
