When converting a truck that originally had a 3 speed auto trans to 4 speed overdrive, is it easier to just get a 4 speed auto trans steering column or can the 3 speed one be converted?

The only difference between the two is the gear marker that will be off, either to little or to many gears. may need to adjust linkage. only indexing for shifter is whats in tranny, except for park.
sorry if its confusing i'm tired

    In theory everything works
