I am notorious for overtipping pizza delivery people. I don't know why, them face to face with me I just throw money at them. I tipped the girl that just dropped of my Pizza, $6.... on an $11 pizza.... God I'm useless sometimes. I need a girl to handle this for me and just tip right. Even the girl was like "oh wow, thanks".

Safe - too much 'alone' time with your food to go fokin around trying to save a dollar or 2.

was she cute? i once tipped a pizza girl $20 on a $20 order. she flirted a bit before she handed over the grub, and she was quite attractive. we were having a party, and i invited her back after she got off of work, she called, but never showed. :(

eh not really, I meant to note that fact. When its a girl delivery person I just hope they don't think I'm flirting or something.

Waitressing is wrice as hard as cooking, and pizza delivery is somehwere in between. Trraffic in large towns HAS to suck hard.

I tipped a black guy in Denver $20, he was AWESOME!

Is it the law to pay that percentage? Or can you pay whatever you want?

Pay what you want for what you think the person has done. Sometimes with delievery it is easy to just round up to something even or what is in your pocket. It does not hurt to flirt with the the delievery girl and if she flirts back enough it is usually worth more. Even though that is all it is.

I give them $2-3. It's not like its hard to sit in a car and walk 20 feet every 10 minutes.

The customary gratuity in the US is 10-20%, depending on how good the service was. Some countries it's different, and in some countries it's considered disrespectful to leave a tip.

It's voluntary. My son-in-law has waitered his whole life. He's on the high end in Vegas now. 20% is fair IMO because they generally live off tips. Most restaurant employers pay a very low wage. If you had to live off hourly in that job you'd be Joe Dirt in no time.

The only time I didn't tip was when the service was blatantly poor or the delivery guy forgot us and we had to call.

I took my mother out too lunch today. The bill was $16.07. The waiter was very cool. Didn't bug us, but made sure our drinks got refilled each time they went empty. Food was alittle late, so the a waiter gave us free cheese cake. I gave him $21.00 and told him too keep the change as a tip.

We once had a really bad waitress in Edmonton at red lobster. She kept calling me little guy, and messed up our order. Some of the food was missing, and some was cold.
The funniest part is the table beside us, they hadn't even ordered yet and they got a bill :haha:

I have a friend that guesses the ballpark of what the bill will be, puts roughly 15% of that in singles on the table, and adds or takes away bills depending on what the server does after explaining his method to them. It drives me insane but it's pretty entertaining to watch the server's reaction. The funny part is I always get good service when I go out to eat with him.

I tip well for happy servers that are competent. If I have to ask for a refill or whatever the tip goes down. Delivery folks are a whole different deal. I pretty much always tip well for the wear and tear and gas and what not.

That and the fact that I could drag my butt down to the joint but then it's wear and tear on my rig.

I've ordered a pizza when it was pounding snow outside 2-3ft.
They barely made it to the house so I tipped good.
It's not always as easy as you think.
Remember, they don't get paid squat so tips are needed.
I've always thought about leaving a tip in an upside down glass full of water
    to the ones that suck.
    I normally leave 20%
