p/u rear bumper on a k5

    can a rear chevy pickup bumper be put on a blazer ?is it possible with litle or no mods ? i may be interested in possibley doing this. any and all info/comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks ahead of time.

    no it is not Scott.
    a 73 to 80 Blazer bumper goes directly to the frame where as the trucks have four brackets like the later 81 and up blazers.
    Since the frames are the same width the brackets could be swapped over with a little cutting trimming welding bolting/forums/images/icons/cool.gif

    Hmm I forgot to mention in the other post that was why it was a PITA to remove the helper springs for the tailgate.
    I'll go look at mine in The AM and see what all was done to make it work.

    I put a step bumper on my truck, just trimmed the frame horns a little and then made new brackets. It was about a 2 hour project.

    I just got done cutting one off my frame, in favor of the tube bumper I'm building. Stupid hack job installer, welded the damn thing to the frame, What a PITA to remove. You can have my old bumper for cheap, if you want it, it's all set up for a K5. Only some minor tweaks on one side, due to the terrible exit angle I used to have...damn rocks/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif. Also, I have both side springs, spring brackets, etc....

    Oh BTW, my old chrome bumper also has my "official CK5 member" sticker attached to it....Doh..../forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    thanks anyway man, but i may just stay with my present bumper. i was just throwing some ideas around. i really do appreciate the offer though. thanks.
