About $420 reusing your hard drive, floppy, and optical drive. Keeping all your peripherals.

    1600mhz
    1024ram

    6600GT 128mb AGP

You won't beable to use your power supply with any of the newer processors/vid cads. The new stuff hogs power.

    Check it-

    CPU- $75
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104245

    RAM- $38
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227037

    Motherboard- $39
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813152054

    Video card- $99
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102640

    Hard drive- $42
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144238

    Case/Power supply- $59
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811147001

    Game pad/controller- $25
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826127207

    $378 total.

You could drop that alittle more with a different video card.

It's a budget type system...but it would do what you wnt it to do 90,834,759,087,345 times better than the system you have now.:eek1:

That system would be fairly upgradeable as well. PCI Express video card as apposed to AGP. PCI Express is the new standard- No more AGP cards. 64 bit, socket 754 AMD Sempron processor. Socket 754 CPU's go all the up to the Athlon 64 3700+. The mother board has onboard 6 channel sound, so ya don't need a sound card. The only things you need are an operating system and a monitor. :)

Very nice for a basic comp. I would add another stick of memory.
I was sad when egghead changed, but I buy from newegg(the same guys) all the time.

It's $62, BUT MSI is one of the better known mobo comapnies around. I have an MSI in my computer. :)

I use MSI in all of my builds. Never had a DOA or crash yet. The one I run in my comp has been running 24/7 since I built in in May 05
