I found a frind of mine that works at a local paint shop and is cutting me a huge deal on the work. Re-painting the interior and exterior for around 2K.

One problem... I have no clue on what color to paint it. I thought about charcoal inside and orange or peach outside.

any suggestions? I have to drop it off tomorrow so any help appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Jman

LIME GREEN!!! [IMG] Well I love that color but probably not on a Blazer. On 70's style Blazer I have yet to see a nice dark blue. Actually don't see many dark blue blazers at all... I was thinking about it for my truck when it gets paint, but I don't want to have to pay to have the door jams and such painted too... so she'll be black [IMG]

If I wasn't planning on running trails then candy apple red would by my choice! Dark metallic blue is cool....hunter green is as well.....

the only problem with black is that they are EVERYWHERE, mine included. If there is 20 k5's here in town, at least 10 are black.. BUT mine will be forever black as well, after all the interior work, it just has to be!

I just had my buddy whos owns a custom paint shop (he sprays hotrods and harleys) squirt my Blazer...I origoinally wanted to paint it Viper blue..sweet color cause its got nice pearls in it..but its VERY expensive paint to mix...and another thing about color (if your body isnt perfect then dont go with a dark color or else every ripple and wave and ding and dent in the body will show)...so I ended up paining mine the new Ford silver color from the new Superduty trucks....looks very nice, but I had to paint the top a dark grey color cause it just looked too brite all silver...
    good luck

The best paint job I've seen is chrome illusion. Costs alot more but the Jeep I saw it on was sweet! As you walked by the vehicle it changed from blue to teal green to purple. This would be only if the vehicle is not going to be used offroad.

If you plan on "USING" it......get some rattle cans!

Hey testosterone... Got any pics of the paint job? That sounds like a cool idea and would hide stuff much better then a black truck

Hey Capt... I was gonna get that when I bought my Blazer... very much wanted it to be purty... then I learned it was $4500 for the paint alone. Not the painting to be done and prep work... just the big cans of paint... I backed out when I learned that! [IMG] I like my $40 primer job it fits my budget way better......

You can do alot of stuff to personalize it. Like a on mine I went all mistic black with metal flake in it then faded gunmetal gray from the bottom up. Although I think a metallic Forrest green would look sweet.

Nice truck Testosterone. I like that... I also have to like the solid color look, but trim is still up in the air.

CCG... Paint or atleast good paint costs a crap load. The best advice I got was from a guy who does bodywork and he told me to do the body work yourself or have another shop do it and go to a Macco or other large scale name that you have heard does decent quality work. Most use a decent quality paint, although far from a Dupont, but most buy it in such bulk that they can afford to paint things cheaper. Usually their prep and body work is crao from what I've heard. I talked to a shop around hear that used to be a Macco but dropped it because of the image, but they were looking at 4 to 5 bills to spray and then put on an extra thick clearcoat. Overall it should be more then nice enough for a rig that goes on trails and through salt and snow in winter.
