I'm trying to identify the silver paint on my 85 K5.
The sticker on the drivers door jamb is worn off.
There is a service identification sticker in the glove box, the only reference to paint on it is..
    Option # 117L
    17 Sil Met .19

Does anyone know what this means? Shouldn't the paint code start with WA?

Don't sweat it. Just take that number down to a professional paint shop and tell it to them. They have access to several reference materials to get the code numbers that you're looking for.

what blazerboy said is easiest but if that doesnt work you can have the paint matched by removing a fuel filler door or glove box and take it to your paint supplier i did this once when i had a paint code number wouldnt come up,it turned out to be a stock gm paint color and what they gave me matched perfect

Most paint shops can just look at the color and tell you what the name is. They can also color match using computer..
