    Yeah. I scuffed mine up when I did my bumpers, hit them with like a 60 grit pad on the random orbital, and I didn't do enough of a job, as the setuff is flaking off a couple years later.

    I'd say a flapdisc on the grinder. Beat that thing HARD.

    was the first Google hit I found with pix.

    Hardware store or wherever you get your grinding wheels will have them. Not quite as nasty as a grinder, like won't dig into the steel, but should get into the chrome coating.

    Yeah it's hard to paint. Scuff real good or it will flake. Try to make the whole thing a dull haze, not reflective that means you should have a good sand on it. Unless, like stated above, you grind the chrome off to bare metal. Good luck.
