    All,

I’m looking for a good HEI distributor and a power steering gear box. No rush but if someone has either and would be willing to get rid of them, please let me know.

On a side note, has anyone purchased a rebuilt box from one of the local parts stores….Autozone, Napa…Ect.? If so, how is it holding up?

I will eventually pay up for a decent box, but I didn’t want to do that until it’s crossover time.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    BOTH.... :doah: :haha:

It also has a broken bolt in the lower front mounting point. I have no idea how long it's been like this but it has to be corrected. I haven't found a lot of positive comments on the "Cheap rebuilds" from the local stores but I will go that route if I can't find a good used one. Autozone lists them for $160 if I remember correctly.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Broken bolt is easy , if its sticking up enough "visegrips" , if not weld a bolt to it on the outside where it sticks through the other side and take it out .

Leaky depends on where its leaking from .

I scored a used box sitting outside for who knows how long , a little cleaning and an input shaft seal and its awesome right now :D

I bought a checker auto rebuilt box months ago, I've only just now got a column hooked up to it, still no lines to the pump or linkage... but it doesn't leak yet =)

    Fred,

That's good news! I assume both are in "Usable" condition?

Let me know what your schedule looks like and we can arriange a meeting. I won't be able to do anything until thursday or friday but should be good to go after that. :waytogo:

    Thanks for the help!

    Andrew
