Pardon me if you have already discussed this but has anyone seen the burb painted with the flag?
Nice burb and a great representation of the flag. Saw it on CNN I think - I want pics.

Don't have one on the truck yet because it is parked till the lift and axle swap is done. I have one to put on it when it is finished though. We do have 3 flags on Donna's car.

Let's see if I can say this without started an internal war. Flyin the flag is okay and I'm always thrilled to see so many flying, but I don't. Why? Don't see the need in it. Just make everyone think yeah, I love my country blah blah blah. If anyone wants to ask me how patriotic I am, I'll show them my DD-214, then ask if they are willing to put on the uniform. Now I understand some people can't serve and others won't, that's fine with me; but I don't have to wave the flag. And am I willing to go back in, yes, I would kill to be sitting in some type of combat vehicle, locked and loaded ready to tear feces up.

<font color=purple> I agree, I've always been patriotic ........ Sometimes I watch tv and get pissed that all these comercials are going the flag waving route ......... Don't get me wrong, I think it's extremely important right now but why not before ? Were they not so patriotic ? Did they not believe in what America stands for ? I understand that this was a huge eye opener for a lot of people but I was just as much a believer in our country before the 11th ! I get a little pissed off when I see some of the things on tv.............. These companies should'e been doing these things all along ........ Maybe they could have been giving some of their millions to aid in the starving, homeless, jobless, etc. to try and make our country better ! I think they are all about greed and are now trying to hop on the whole Patriotic theme to get a gold star by their names ..........The media is no better, ........... Like the old song says, " Talk about the plane crash with a gleem in their eye. " ......... Beat me up all you want about what I've said here, but remember, ....... Thanks to the United States of America, I have the freedom to do so !

No beating required. It's turned goofy now. All we get now is we bombed again, another case of anthrax...I know to do the job right, it takes time and I may be impatient a little bit. I know we have a lot of innocents we have to work around, I just hope that when something significant goes down, we get told because if we screw around too long, the people will become disenchanted in the mission because they are stupid and nothing will be accomplished.

    Re: Patriotic K5\'s

The events on the 11th were huge eye openers. Most of us (including me) took this country for granted. We haven't had a powerful reason such as those events to unite as strongly as we have. We were all so absorbed in abortion rights and how we think everyone is out to screw us and then, something like this happens and we all pull together and flying the flag is representing that. All this patriotism will die down eventually again until something like this happens and then we will unite all over again. It goes up and down, just like the economy or a relationship. No matter what, it will always go up and down because by nature, people take things for granted. For a while, I was asking "why is God so important all of the sudden? We were so set on driving Him out of everything." I guess we found solid ground again. So, I'm glad. I don't really care for the reasons, I'm just glad to see people praying and people proud of the country they live in instead of griping about it. Now, the test is will it last? that is what I'm concerned with. We needed to change in my opinion.

I agree with you and Riz. I served my country for 10 years in the Navy and I fly my flag EVERY day, both at home and the Vet plate on my truck. My boys get a kick out of having colors morning and night because they understand what it symbolizes. I think it's great that everyone is flying a flag of some sort, but why not everyday?? Muddin4fun has an interesting point : So many Americans take for granted the basic freedoms we all enjoy and, unfortunately, 11 Sep has opened many an eye. I just hope those eyes stay OPEN!!

Every American should own a flag and fly it regardless of current events. Just my $0.02.

The learning curve is a toll road...ride with someone who has already paid!

If you don't want the edges of the flag to unravel or come undone go to an art supply store like say Michael's and buy this stuff called slick paint. It's what people use to write on T-shirts. Comes in small tubes and squeezes out (it's kinda like a rubbery substance)... anyhow buy red, white and blue.... then put it on the edges of the flag on both sides spread it out maybe a half inch. Works well and helps the edges take the wind a lot better......

    Re: Patriotic K5\'s

I'm as guilty as the nex guy (or gal) about finding fault with our government at times. I'm prior army during the Iran/Granada conflicts. Though never seeing combat, I'm still ready and willing to defend my country, my home, my family. My flags fly proudly at home, at my shop, and on my vehicles in testiment to that.

Now.... the flag only symbolizes our freedom.... the spirit is always there. Sometimes it just takes a crisis like this to show the spirit this country was built from and still maintains... funloving, docile, and carefree most of the time... can be like a cornered badger when push comes to shove.

Like the days of the minuteman, we live our everyday lives, and yes, take a lot of things for granted. But when we are threatened as a whole, we pull together, military and civilian alike, to protect what we have, and who we are.

    America will prevail!
