Very nice! Much like what I want to do to my K30. Man, I gotta get on the ball. With all these cut, chopped, and tubed rides, I'm gonna look like a copy cat. Actually, I see some new (to me) ideas I like so, assuming I ever get around to making progress on this thing, I guess that WILL make me a copy cat. [IMG] Well, like they say, copying someone is the most sincere form of praise (or something like that) [IMG]

    Eric,

    <a target="_blank" href=http://coloradok5.com/moneypit.shtml> Moneypit write-up</a>

I'm sure there have been a few changes other than body and cage since this was written, but it should give you a good idea.

    thank you all.

nothing really has changed mechanically since i 'completed' the k5 18 months ago, just routine maintenence. oh yeh, i did change a couple of items; 4 wheel disc, single flowmaster, and x-over steering.

specs on the cage; 1.5" chromoly, tig welded, tied into the original cage for lateral support. there is a steel plate bolted to the core support(the only body mount pt.) providing an anchor point in the front. im still considering using old valve springs under the two core support body mounts to let the body flex out a bit.

anyone else think this is a good idea?

ps. i still have my ck5 windshield sticker on! look closely at the bottom.

I'm doing the valve spring mod too, under both the front and back. I've bent the hell out of the tailpan and spread the bedsides because of frame flex. I also blew one of the body washers off not too long ago under the middle of the truck, pulled the bolt right through it!! My core support mounts blew out a long time ago so I'm either gonna do the valve springs or make a single mount in the center. Rob, one of my friends from NY, did this on his rig... it was on the cover of Fourwheeler last year... and it works great.

I like it, i like it. Thats what I tell people that ask me "what the hell are you doing to your truck?" and I say" you ever see the movie Mad Max?" like the crossover setup, was it hard to do, i was thinking about doing that on my 10, but ill just do it once on the 60.

Wow! that was a bold step to take on a good looking truck. The finished product looks great. I can't wait to see some wheeling pics.
