anyone have anyhting good to say about this place? a friend of mine got a job there as a sports photographer, and wants me to move with him. im living on long island now, and got nothing going for me. so a move might be nice. but i never even thought about arizona. its something about being landlocked that kinda scares me, after growing up on an island. any input?

We tried to buy some investment property in Scottsdale and spent a weekend there. I liked it, but I like the desert. If I don't retire to Nevada, then the Scottsdale area, or somewhere else in AZ will be my second choice.

If you don't mind 3 months of dry heat, 100+* even at night, the rest of the year is beautiful weather. Sunshine 300+ days a year and no hurricanes, tornadoes, landslides, earthquakes, typhoons, cyclones etc. etc. While you can wear a shirt and shorts in Jan here and not worry about shoveling snow in the East..

The whole state is great, except for Phoenix. If you're into CK5, Phoenix is great place to be born:haha: August, 1952.:haha: :haha:

Born and raised in PHX. Went to Manzanita elem. and Apollo High. Phoenix is a great city, a bit warm in the summer but the desert is beautiful.

Moved up a little NE from PHX in the high country (Show Low) in 1984.

Now when I go down to the valley, it has grown so much from when I grew up its amazing. There are typical everyday crap that comes with a big city but AZ is the most versatile and best state ever and if I had to live in a big city again I would pick Phx or metro area.

    2 words.... Phoenix ROCKS!!!!!

i lived there for 2 yrs while i went to school and i'd move back in a heartbeat! the offroad community down there is massive, the music scene is great, parties every night of the week.... only thing i didnt like was the humidity which being from long island shouldnt phase you. it would sometimes hit 60% and being from vegas where 25-20% is bad that killed me. oh and bars and stuff actually have closing times there, none of that in vegas either. lol

Bring guns. Lots of guns. :D
Seriously though, growth in AZ is booming, it's turning into Kali, but without the water supply. Makes me wanna leave. The more people move here, the more I want to exit. If it wasn't for the amigos, and the rocks, I'd be gone.

sounds liek everyone likes it there. i would like to end up somewhere in colorado, in the mountains. how long would it take to get to a decent snowboard mountain from phoenix? as it is now, i drive about 6 hours each way every weekend to snowboard in the winter. arizona doesnt seem like my type of place, but i need to get away from here, so ill probally go for a while. maybee check out durango colorado for my next move.

That about sums it up. I do really like the place, but I am just getting tired of the growth. It is starting to settle down and level out (finally you focking investing CA hippies).

What part of Phoenix, and what company?
