This post and the one about the hunting pics need to become stickies. I plan on posting plenty of fish this spring and summer /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

here is one from early August/04, not too big but put up a great fight! More to come.

Nothing major just a small bass. Always seems when I hook a bigger fish I don't have anyone with a camera nearby.

The picture has to be in your members rides area. Go to your gallery and click on your picture to make it big. Then right click on it and copy image location (netscape) or right click on it and click properties and copy url (ie). Then when you are posting click image and in the pop up box you can paste (netscape) or type in url (ie). Then when you submit it the pic is there. Its all in the faq of ck5 http://coloradok5.com/forums/faq.php?Cat=0#image it does not show how to get url of image as browsers are different. Hope it helps. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Ok the story, Sorry for the delay, work got in the way of posting /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

I fish all the time and never seem to get that trophy, but when I take others, they score.. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
I once took my cousin on his first bass fishing trip, caught a 12.5 lb largemouth as he casted to the middle of a cove to remove a (professional overrun).
Anyway, That’s my fiancée then and now wife in the pic with me, SHE is actually the one who caught the fish!!. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif We were fishing for trout up at a lake near where we live (Pinewood res.) and I had a few minnows left over from the previous days walleye trip, After no luck for trout on power bait and salmon eggs, I placed a minnow on her hook, About 5 mins later her 5 foot ultra light rod spooled with 4lb test just took a dive, not the tap tap of a trout /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif She set the hook and the line started to peel off, I knew right away that it was either a big carp or a Tiger musky. She didn’t have a clue at that point that she had a pretty big fish.
After about 5 mins of it fighting, it started to surface and all she kept sayin was “ oh my god”.. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif She wanted me to reel it in but I just kept giving advice.. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif LOL.. ya.. that’s it!.. Anyway, the area we were in was pretty shallow and somewhat rocky, After seeing the fish, I took the much undersized net out to the water about thigh deep, hoping to be able to net it before it broke off by thrashing in the shallow water. The tiger musky, kept whipping across in front of us going from side to side on it’s runs , about ripping my ear off once as the line passed over me. It was jumping, thrashing and wallowing, I thought for certain it was going to break the line.
Eventually, I figured I was not doing much good out there and moved inland to my ankles, she kept fighting that fish like a pro and I was able to scoop it out of the water and onto the bank after about 20-25 mins of chaotic fun. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

I have been fishing all my life (40 years). I think this is by far my most memorable fishing trip ever. /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif

My wife calls it the “ugly fish” and though she loves to eat fish, she did not want to have anything to do with this one. I, who usually does not care for fish, thought it was excellent. I have the measurements and some day will get a replica mount made for her..
43 inches long, 18 inch girth, and 26 lbs on a bathroom scale.

I’ll post a pic that shows the hook, it was hooked in the fleshy outer part of the mouth.
    Brett
If you look close, you can see the hook. It was little number 6 or 10 eagle claw trout hook.

    A little closer view

Look at them teeth. I'm still amazed that she brought it in without snapping or cutting the line.
