Stephen, I'd really like to see some close up pics of the fender trim. I plan to run 38-40s with 6 inches of lift. You cut out the inner fenderwell right? Did you make new ones? I'd really like some more info and pics.
    Thanks a lot.

Yeah same here. I plan on running 39.5's or 42's with a custom 5" lift.

Oh yeah, I'd also like to see some more pics of the green blazer with 42s. I couldn't find any on your site. I've only seen the one in fourwheeler for the TTC entry and 1 pic in here. You must have more pics.

Now I'm really interested I've got first dibs on a set of 42's. My problem is I went out and took down some measurements on the K5 and it doesnt look as simply as it sounds to stuff 42's under 5or 6" lift. I'd kill to see some pics of you stuffing 42's under your K5. What size lift do you have?

    do you like?

This is the only pic I could find on the net. You can't see the fender cutting very well but in an earlier post it said the it has the same amount of cutting for the 42s as for the 37s. I belive it's lifted 6 inches. The other pic is in the april 01 issue of fourwheeler.

That picture is not what it will look like to stuff 42's. The wheel is barely able to turn in that picture. No flex at all. That won't be the way he leaves it to compete.

Yeah I know. He said that he's going to do more cutting. The blazer(or is it a jimmy?) is probably fenderless by now[IMG]

I gotta scan in pictures of my fender trimming. Fendertrimming is FUN! I had to cut the inner fenderwells in a horizontal line, and it was different in my '76 Jimmy than in my '81 Silverado. I will scan in pics by Sunday--everyone should trim fenders! Why do some people trip out on cutting the fenders? It looks kind of funny now. I trimmed the inner fenders with a ratchet (they're gone), haven't done the outers for real yet. For the pic, they actually had enough room for 4-5" of compression, and it did turn and drive. But not enough for wheeling.
There will be plenty of pics when it's finally done.......

For shorter stuff, look at what Steve Fox did. That works really well for 37-38" tires, and looks really clean too. He did the same basic job I did to run the 37's and you can see a good side view of that on the easter pics on our site from last year.

You've got a 6" lift correct? Where did you mount your battery?

They're both mounted to the shop floor right now, I'm reserving space behind the seats....

I'm staying with about 6" of lift. Ride height should end up about 15" from the top of the tube to the bumpstop mount (front suspension). I also have the 1" body lift. And may raise the motor up a little too.

This is a blast from the past!
At this point wheelbase is 116". Previous it has been 109-110 since the TTC build in 2001.
