That's real close to what I want to make. Do you have any pics of the winch box up close? What size tubing did you use? Looks good.

Theres no winch in there yet but if my tax return is big enough this year there will be.Gonna cut a hole in the front of it for the cable and put the winch right behind the bumper under the core support. The 2" tubing is .187"wall and I dont remember what the 3/4" measured.

Class work Frizz. I'm still in awe of your diff guards. How did you make 'em so smooth?

Real trucks don't have spark plugs!

Iv been thinkin about starting to maybe start making those disconnects and D44 dif gaurds.I gotta get geared up to do them at home and figure out costs of materials and all that good stuff. They dont mind me doin it here but I dont think they would dig any mass production action.

Hey Frizz, I am in the process of building my front bumper and had a couple questions. Have you ever been hassled or did you look into the legal reqs for a front bumper? I dont mean hieght, but width. I have a center section right now, but nothing from my frame to the outside. I plan on adding a double tube setup to the ends, but was wanting to raise them up high. The prob is that almost my total front tire will be visible from the front. Is there a req to have it covered or anything silly??
Also, did you put in support from the bars that go to the side of the body to the frame? In case you bump anything with the ends so they wont hit the body.
    Just wondering...

    Mike

Iv never looked for DOM but Valley Iron seems to have a huge selection of pretty much everything.

Dan,How did I get it so smooth?A lot heating, bending, and grinding.Iv made a couple that are 2 piece instead of the 8 pieces in the one thats on my truck and there much easier to make.

87GMC,I dont think I will be makin more of those. That thing took about 6 hours to build. Its cool but its stronger than the crossmember and I have since bent it.I bent the crossmember climbing over that rock that Im on in the Blazer of the month pic.

In Cal. there is a vehical code sayin that you must have bumpers.Iv gotten tickets in a couple custom cars I built that diddnt have bumpers but I dont know how it applies to trucks. You should check your local laws before ya spend any time or money on it.Before I added on to my front bumper it was about 40" wide and the rear is about the same.As far as the tire being covered there is a code here for mud flaps and how far the tire can stick out of the fender but I dont know the details on those. My fenders are cut almost even with the top of the tires but the tires dont stick out of the wheel wells.
I did run a bar from the frame to the side to keep it from bending when I hit trees n stuff [IMG]
