I'm going the same color! I'm gonna put a big star on each door too...

man whats up what that paint sheme??? I thought it would be kinda cool to do a leopard scheme, but I would be kinda hard to get a template for.

I only have two..I sold one to get another one..
If I hadn't sold all the one's I've had in the past.. I'd still have 5.

That is one AWSOME score for $500. I'm jealous... I kinda like the paint... it is different... it is "jungle K5" LOL.. But then I'm sick of seeing the same old, same old... If it was mine I think I would paint the topper blk to match the wheels you're gonna put on and paint different wild animals poking out of the "jungle" LOL... paint a monkey and label it a Jeeper [IMG].

ive always wanted to do an olive drab, but lately ive been thinking it would be a lot funnier to paint it forest green w/white doors.. the INS truck colors, and drive around construction sites :)

I like the leaf pattern.. but I like the Military look better.. Olive drab, white stars on the door's and Black top, wheels and bumpers.

I was thinking of selling the 454 and buying a nicely built 350 for the truck... remove some of the heavy weight..
    Good idea?

    Rocko,
I am envious except for the paint. That is UGLY! I would go with the OD and the black wheels. That sounds like a real rock crawler color!

Oh.. i plan to beat this truck like the dog that it is..
    It's stricly bought for off-roading..
    Bruce...
I bought a case of Rustoleum Camo paint.. Olive drab and Black yesterday.. I'm going to start sanding the rough areas... remove the top and fix those little rust spots.. then start painting..
Hope I don't get to much overspray... [IMG][IMG].
Thanks for all the compliments.. I'm happy with the purchase.. Can't wait to get the 454 tuned and running right to see what a big block feels like..
    I'll take many photo's...
Pugsley... Employed ? who me? Nah.. Not yet.. I'm selling things to buy things...
Hence the computer parts.. I sold my computer, my 72 Blazer.. other parts I've had laying around here..
So I'm doing okay on un-employment..
I have a lead on a job with Discount Tire.. if I can ever get a hold of the guy who called me for my final interview.. I called him back 3 times yesterday .. Monday's aren't good for people .. i know..
If I get this job at Discount tire... wooo hoooo... 35's or 38's for all my trucks.. [IMG]

Keep the big block. As far as a weight difference, there isn't much.

    454 weighs: 685lbs
    350 weighs: 575lbs
    difference= 110lbs

Add alum. heads and the weight is almost the same compared to a SB. If the BBC has small peanut port heads, it might feel weak at higher RPM's. Stock HP on a peanut port BBC is only 230 hp. Add a set of 049 heads oval heads and you'd easlily be over 400hp.

How much difference in price are the BB compared to the SB?
And how hard are BB parts to come by?

BBC parts aren't too hard to find. Much easier than other engines. Look in any performance catolog and you will find many parts for these engines. Prices are a little more than SBC parts but not much. Ebay also has some great deals sometimes. A complete BBC engine will usually go for more money compared to a SBC.
