Pic\'s of your custom exhaust crossover pipe??

I just got my Thorley tri-Y's and I am gonna run a single 3" exhaust to a Flowmaster 50. Do any of you all have any pics of your exhaust crossover that DOESN'T run underneath the front driveshaft? Can I have the shop cross over after the xfer case? I'd like to have a pic to show the guys at the muffler shop; the shops around here are used to doing rice burners and stuff. /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

I had to get mine re-welded with a dropped piece today, because the front drive shaft was hitting the exhaust after the lift. Also couldnt do much, the cat is too far forward, they woulda had to make too much custom work. Not too bad for 50 bucks though.

I had mine done not too long ago and they routed it between the inspection cover and tranny pan. Nice and up out of harms way too. Ill try and get some pictures for you.

If you run the exhaust between the inspection cover and trans pan won't the heat from the exhaust fry the transmission. /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

No, I dont think it should. I dont really worry about it because I have a rather large tranny cooler.

Thanks bro. That looks good. I think I'll print that out and take it to the shop with me. Where does your exhaust dump? And how is the inlet/outlet on your muffler configured. Thanks again for the photo, Bullet. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

wouldn't it cost less and be better to just run duals instead if installing a Y pipe?

depends on local emissions laws etc. If you have to buy 2 cats in addition to 2 muffs... it prolly aint "cheaper" than a y-pipe. duals will always be easier to route tho!!!

Re: Pic\'s of your custom exhaust crossover pipe??

Our original plan was to get the exhaust this far and then finish when the shocks were relocated. However, we like the way the exhaust sounds so well we have left it as is. [IMG]

We "accidently" left the cat off, but if emmissions require, it is a simple bolt-in between the y-pipe and the muffler. True duals with two mufflers and two cats are not cheaper than the single exhaust, are of no real benift at lower rpm's, and are still an emmissions violation if your vehicle did not originally come equiped with duals.

Hmm, looking at your pic there the exhaust ends under the rear floor? Kinda odd that they would worry so much about emissions and allow an exhaust under a passenger compartment. Wouldn't pass PA inspection =oP Guess we all have our problems heh

Passed inspection without any trouble. I didn't say it was legal, I said it can be easily made emmissions legal. I don't get any more exhaust fumes with it there than I do exiting out the sides. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you route your exhaust like Derf's then your gonna need to get a smaller CAT and move it rearward. (assuming you have the factory CAT still)
