    PIN# is what you have for your ATM card
    VIN# is what your truck has, its on the dash on the left side, looking from the outside you can see it..you can also get the casting numbers off of the block...behind the alternator i believe and then check Mortec.com

    If it's the original motor it's either a 350 or 400. I don't think the factory put 305's in the K5 in 1976. Mine has the 400.

    thanks!

    I stole it actually, from a dude over on Glocktalk. His said "got a question? Try Here first:" next to it. I've tried to add it to this one, but no luck . How do I get rid of the CK5 Member and change it?

    I think a 76 will have the vin tag on the back of the driver side door frame. If I'm not mistaken, they didnt start putting the tags on the dash until 79.

    The engine code is the third digit.

    For 76:
    D=250
    T=292
    Q=305
    V=350 2 bolt main
    L=350 4 bolt main
    U=400

    There is also usually a tag on the radiator support that tells the engine size in the upper left corner. But keep in mind that a 27 year old truck might not have the same engine in it.
