Pinion Seal

    I gotta replace the rear pinion seal this weekend. Are there any special things I should know about? Any tips, etc? Thanks [​IMG]

    use a good impact wrench to get the nut off the pinion. if you try to take it off with a wrench you'll probably just turn the tires.the nut should be a lock nut so if it's bad or it's just a regular nut i'd get a new one. happy trails

    Be careful. There is a crush sleeve inside there. If its not tightened enuff or overtightened it will will mess up the depth and lash of your pinion gear and it's all downhill from there.

    Will need an inch lbs tourque wrench. Follow shop manual directions for adjusting preload on the pinnion.
