I just got a Dana 60 this weekend, and the pinon seems loose. It can be pushed in and out a bit and wobbled around. Will replacing the pinon bearing and seal cure this, or am I SOL?
As always I will take all the .02 cents I am thrown!
    Thanks alot,
    Jake

the pinion nut could just be loose causing the play in the pinion, but the question is how long was it run that way. The best thing to do would be disassemble it and check the bearings, the ring and pinion teeth, and replace the seals. if they ran it long with a loose pinion it could have damaged the ring and pinion.
