I'm removing all my emission equipment on my 83 with a 350 and I'm looking for a thermostat housing without all the provisions for the original sensors. I don't want a chrome one, though. Does anyone know what vehicles had a plain one that will work on mine. The people at A-zone couldn't find one. Thanks.

Your gonna need one probably off of an EARLY motor...might get lucky on something pre '74, more so a truck than a car.

Sounds like A-zone have their thumbs up their butts. Go to a different parts store and tell them what you need. My '79 doesn't have the sensors and neither did my '86 and yes, they were the original motors and such.

Okay, so at this rate, you could have bought a chrome one, scuffed up the finish and primed and painted it black or whatever color you wanted. I put a chrome one in mine, and I like it just fine... :) Just my $.02

...or just go to a parts store that isn't run by idiots and ask for a thermostat housing for a small block without the emmissions and if they raise an eyebrow, then leave and never return, unless it's to buy car wash er something. LOL! [IMG]
