    wow, this thing still fs? I am looking for my first welder... got to figure it out for myself at some point right? Can you do thicker stuff with this bad boy? like 3/16" or 1/4" steel? lemme know,

    Jason, I have this exact same welder, except 20 yrs older lol, anyways, I've welded steel 1" thick and it hasn't failed me yet, for a stick welder in my opinion you can't beat the Lincoln 225 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    I thought you wanted to weld thick stuff! LOL!! Ususally, you can weld thicker materials if you make a few passes. it won't weld it in one pass, but 2 or 3 and you've got it!
