I just got orderd my new engine and I was wondering how I know where the plug wires go from the distributor to the spark plugs? It hasn't come in yet so it may say there may be instructions but I doubt it(who needs instructions anyway). Can anyone help me?

yah get yourself a Haynes manual for your vehicle and it explains it fully. If this is a 350 Chevy your firing order is 18436572

With #1 top dead center TDC and on the firing stroke put the distributor in with the button pointing towards #1 approximately 5 oclock as viewed from the front of the motor. Plug your #1 wire on there. #1 is front drivers side and #2 is passenger side front. All odds are on Driver side all evens on passenger. All Chevrolet V-8's fire 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2. The distributor rotates clockwise.

I thought I was wrong once,
    but I was mistaken
