I remember a discussion about wires and I think both the Summit and Taylor wires were of good quality. Im running an HEI, which should I go with?

I think you get what you pay for.I heard the spiral core ones are good but a little pricey.

I am running the Summit Blue 8mm and they are made by Taylor. When I was making the legths I was also checking the resistance and I tell you thease wires are great. Very low resistance, better than the 50 dollor MSD wires that I had on before. So far they have worked out great for me.

The truth is that most of the supression core wire is pretty good stuff these days. I know a number of guys running $19.95 Pep-Boys wire with moderately hot ignitions ystems and they have no complaints. I'm running a set of those wires on my Blazer with an HEI and an aftermarket coil. No problems so far (2-1/2 years). Spiral core wires are better and do last longer, but they cost a *lot* more. If you are planning on upgrading the ignition system to something hotter than the HEI in the near future, you will want to go with wire from MSD, Taylor, or Moroso (Blue Max). Avoid the Mallory wire. It does not last worth a darn.
