Do you have that in a good file format?

You could send it to me and I could get some stickers made up. It would be pretty cheap.

If they were 5" tall I could do 4 for about $5ea. The per each cost would go down for more quantity.

I'd like to make them for myself. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I'll see if the one posted is good enough. And get back to you all.

Post up if you're interested. The more there are, the cheaper they'll get.

Okay, anyone who is interested please PM me and we'll make arrangements. I will take requests until Monday noon.

I made some adjustments so that they will work better. They are basically 5"x5".

The resolution will be much better than it appears here. That is part of the reason I made adjustments.

Yeah yeah yeah, choose the point at which you are willing to sell your morals and set up shop there

Oh by the way, Steve, mind if I start selling CK5 themed merchandise? Oh wait, I don't care if you mind...

Well, searched the US Copyright Office copyright registry online and the company that sells the t-shirts doesn't have any registered copyrights.

As far as ethics, it passes my three tests:
Golden Rule: I think it would be cool if someone proliferated one of my artistic creations that made such a bold statement.

Grandmother: I would be perfectly fine telling my grandmother or mother (even if she is a registered Dem) what I'm doing.

Headlines: Go ahead print it in the headlines.

Now if they sold the image in stickers or I was trying to make a profit, I would feel differently.

Well I can admit that it isn't the Holocaust of copyright infringement., but:

(I hate to copy and paste but it's so easy)

Don't you have to register a copyright to make it copyrighted? If it doesn't have a copyright notice... it's not copyrighted!

    WRONG.
The moment any work is actually CREATED it is automatically copyrighted. Therefore any artwork or fiction you see on the net or otherwise is ALREADY copyrighted to the owner, no matter whether the copyright is registered or not. The official law on this is anything created after April 1, 1989 is copyrighted and protected, even if it doesn't have a copyright notice on it.

My use of their images or works are just helping promote their work! They should thank me!

So? You're still violating copyright law. If they agree to let you "promote" their work, then it's fine. But if you didn't get permission, you are still violating copyright law, no matter whether you think they should let you or not. Even if what you are doing seems to be a good thing for the original creator, you must ASK them first. It is their right to determine how and where and when their work is used.

Anyway, all your points are null and some are very ignorant, you're still doing something dishonest and illegal.

You also don't take into consideration the concept of intellectual property

Of course it's up to you to decide whether you want to do such things or not, and even you'll most likely get away with it, you're still doing something that is shameful

Do what you will, just don't try and justify it as correct and honest.

Just to get my point farther across I would like to take what you aid point by point, i am sorry if I am redundant

The company probably bought the image from an independant artist who has the copyright of the image. This may be a subsidiary of another company anyway. It exists, therefore it is copyrighted by it's creator.

Go find the guy who created the image and get his opinion. Your's doesn't matter. I think it would be cool if I could drive a guy who lives in my town's Chevelle, but I don't go and take the damn thing.

You would liek to tell your mother you;re stealing someones work? Or you'd like to tell her about the image itself?

LOCAL MAN JUSTIFIES THE THEFT OF PROPERTY FOR OWN USE WITH WEAK ARGUMENT. How about that?

    1. Someone makes a profit, the guy who sells the materials and the machine the stickers are made on
    2. Steve doesn't sell CK5 bottled water, go for it! How about CK5 logo socks? Send me a pair, I'll cover your costs.
