here's my delema. I've begun to paint the underside of my truck black with this semi-gloss rustoliuem can i had, well it looked great but i ran out, so i ran to sears to pick up some more, but they were out of that type, so i bought black rustolium that was high heat formula (1200 degree) so i bough 5 cans thinking i could use this on everything. but now it looks too muted and like a dark grey, so i need opinions. Which color do you like better

Its not really this light gray, just the flash did it, it's pretty dark but still looks gray

Actually I like the Rustoleum Epoxy Satin Black.
Takes about a day to dry, not as flat as flat or as glossy as gloss. Nice sheen and lasts a long time. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I've used both semi and flat before. Semi looks so much better.

I take a degreeser (like for wheels) and spray all around and I have a RV brush (for washing aluminum) and scrub the underside then rinse it off. After its dry I take one of the wire brushes that has the paint scraper on the end (the type youuse for painting houses) and I crawl under with safty glasses on and go to town! Take an air hose out and blow off the dust and chips then I pull up on a hill/ditch out back in the grass with about 4 cans of paint and 3 cans of truck bedliner spray on stuff. Use the bedliner on the floors, inner wheel wells and rockers and the paint on the axles, frame, tank and lightly spray the springs.
I used the hammerite rust cap paint on my frame and axles, its a metallic black. paint can

Are those pics of my truck??? /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
I say go with Semi-gloss. It looks much better for much longer, gloss is just to um... glossy. It makes all the rust look worse because it reflects so much light, and when it's dirty, it's really dirty! Anyways, just my $.02 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

GLOSS... I work at a faimly owned hardware store and we sell BLP Paints, They have a spray paint(also in pints quart, & gallon) called RUST-KILL and it work REALLY good. I dont know where else you could find it but I really like it.

I used this stuff I got at Wal Mart "Engine Enamel" (900*) with Ceramic in it. Low-gloss black. I use the Furd Dark blue and Daytona yellow too. seems to be pretty tuff paint.
