Well i just got done wrestling with 5 body mount bolts and every one snaped off. The bottom mounts on all of them were gone! my body was just floating on the frame, i guess thats why it rattled so much. My question is with poly body mounts do i reuse the metal hardware from the truck or do i just scrap it. Im looking at energy suspension body mount kit. Also grade 8 or 5 bolts to mount everything?

thanks

The body kits that I have mounted all came with the hardware. Scrap the old junk. Grade 8 is what you want. I cant remember off hand wether or not the E.S. kits come with them or not.

Kumma,
I just got done with the energy body mount installation. The hardware is all grade 5. You do not need to save any metal pieces except for any square shims which were originally installed from factory between rubber mounts and the body itself. The kit comes with poly mounts, tubular inserts, big and small washers and nuts and bolts. Good luck. JT

I get most of my car/truck parts from http://www.summitracing.com. They have free shipping and excellent prices. And, yup, don't throw away anything until the job is done. Never know when you'll need one of the old pieces. JT

No, no, Keep the "factory sleeves" that went through each rubber. unless they're rotted to the core. You may have to get new ones. I'm sure you can get away with not have them, but they are necessary. They keep the bolts from moving around in between the bushings. They're like a sleeve with a huge washer on top that sits on the bushing. and NO, your E. S. kit did not come with these. They only came with like 2 sleeves (maybe 4) that goes inbetween the mounts at section 5 (the two last ones by the tailgate). Yes, I've done this conversion and that's how I know.

ps, it probably wouldn't kill yah to run without them though, but they are there for a reason.

On the ER kit I just bought for my car, the "sleeves" were included. Appear to be cadmium plated, as well as the washers. Interestingly, the GM car kit did NOT come with bolts, but suspension restoration reps knew that and told me when I asked before purchase.
