On a trip this weekend, I really noticed that I seem to have poor vaccuum. The way i noticed was that it didn't take much getting on the throttle before my a/c switched to the floor vents from the dash. I know this switched is vaccuum controlled, hence poor vaccuum.

I recently swapped in a 350 for the original 305. It has a fairly beefy extreme 4x4 cam in it. Do I have a problem? Or is this to be expected? How would I go about checking for sure? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

IIRC there is some sort of accumulator on the firewall. I'd check for a leak or bad hose there. I've also had the little hoses come of the little vacuum manifold under the dash too. I doubt it is motor related because any motor goes to low vacuum under throttle. If you have a reasonable idle you have decent enough vacuum to run your accessories.
