The metal ready is just a degreaser. I think you are supposed to apply the POR 15 to bare metal, aren't you?

Metal ready cleans and leaves a zinc residue that combates the current rust. I highly reccomend it... other then that just get a brush or roller to but it on... very simple and works awsome

When I put Por-15 on my floorboard (moron before me replaced the heater core and not the insulation=rust) I stripped any loose paint off the floorbaord. I'd run over it with a wire brush or something like that to remove any loose stuff. Hope this helps

Take off the primer, por-15 is made to go over bare metal. Check out the website, it is very informative. POR-15.com i think.

It depends... you could go over the primer, but it is made ideally for bare metal and rust. It will stick to properly prepped primer though.
