My wife and I went to the Portland Zoo today. It was good times. We took lots of pics and some cool video too. Someday when I learn how to post vids, I'll put up some of 'em. At any rate, here are a few select pictures...

I believe the sign said it was a jekimus terrarovus.

not everyone has wheelin' pics from a zoo... thought I'd toss that in as a freebee. ;)

The elephant peeing was no joke.. the stream was atleast 2" thick. yikes! The Polar Bears were peeing too. One of them peed all over the ground by a drain... I turned to my wife and said "well, at least he didn't go in the pool!". 5 mins later, a different polar bear peed right into their swimming hole. nasty! lol! My wife has video of it.

That's cool! You got some good shots in too. My sister and brother in law volunteer part time at the portland zoo. I'm not sure exactly what my sister does, but my brother in law works with the elephants. (and when I say "works with the elephants", I mean shovels poo.

lol! Does he do any elephant training stuff at all? While we were there the zoo keepers were doing a neat elephant demo. While a zoo keeper chick talked to the crowd about elephants and junk, a guy (brother in law?!) actually talked to the elephant, gave it balls to grab, commands to do cool tricks etc etc.

I was glad that most of my pics turned out. Its always hard taking good ones at the zoo because there is almost always some kind of fencing or glass (usually very dirty glare-filled glass!) between you and the animal. Oh well, they do what they can I guess. I used my dad's camera for this trip which was cool cause it can take up to 10 pics super fast, unlike my camera where you have to wait for each one to save. My dad plans on getting a polarizing lense at some point... that would help a lot with window glare.

Living directly inside the zoo wall would be a wiser idea...But then again I'm not a big people fan...:D

u should c if you can get a job in Vancouver and just live here. WA has no income tax and lower prop taxes too. All we have is a sales tax... which i dodge by just buying big ticket items in Oregon. lol!

if you go to PSU, just live on campus. My pad there was actually pretty cool and only cost me like $425/mo. It didn't have a shower (tub only) and got ungodly hot in the spring/summer... but hey, its all good!
