Hey Steve, I was thinking about next years run, or runs. How about we look into doing one at the BADLANDS, its in either Illinois or Indiana, cant remember which. Either way I figure it would be a fairly central place and be an equal drive for most people.

Let me know what everybody thinks, and where its located if you know.

Hey, I'd go if you will let a p/u follow (or lead!). The badlands in Attica, IN, well lets just say the owner (Troy) has a bias for short-wheelbase vehicles (jeeps and now a sammy).

WOW, that would be a heck of a drive fer me!
Do you have a city so I can check the milage on mapquest?
It's 945 miles oneway for me to get to Moab. few central US would be a haul..........

Adding to my post, I didn't notice Attica listed above so I did a serch and WOW only 2224 miles one way! Oh and only 40 hrs to get there.............

I believe the Badlands are about an hour west of Indianapolis. Our club has a ride scheduled there this fall which I'm hoping to be able to go to. I would definitely be interested in a K-5 run there.

O.k. so maybe its a good idea for the central folks. Just checked the milage from Stockbridge GA to Attica IN. Holy cow pies batman its 660 miles. Thats like 85 gallons of gas, 8 or so quarts of oil, a SEVERLY NUMB ASS.

I dont see it for me, but maybe you central folks can organise one.

To bad we don't have a train that we could put our rigs on like back in the cowboy days when they would just load up thier horse and then just party the whole way in the train!
    What a great idea the K5 train[IMG][IMG][IMG]!!!!!

it's too bad gas prices are the way they are...it'd be alittle cheaper for everybody. I think my crappy gvsu jeep 4x4 club was gonna plan on going to the badlands sometime....but i also thought we were suppose to do SOMETHING this summer.....still waitin' for an e-mail from them. damn broke college kids!! I'm in for the attica trip.

If I could find somebody with a Tractor and flat bed trailer, and 2 other folks to help pay for gas it would be a trip.

DepDog...your gas milage must suck! It would only be about 70 gals for me, but the oil consumption (loss) would be the same..LOL. Anyway, I couldn't make that kind of trip yet, but if you come up with something closer to home, let me know. My 78 is almost ready to take a sort of mild/medium run.

Hey Dep, any place in Northern Alabama for a group meeting? Athens or Huntsville area, nice mountains. I could probably make it from the gulf coast for something there. The Badlands would take quite a while and 90 some odd gallons of gas for the 810 miles one way!!

I could host it since I live close. Either that or I could host one here in Missouri. I have plenty of trails to check out and could keep us all busy for a few days if you wanted. The trails would be from mild to wild. I will try to do a trail review about Potosi, MO trails for you all and then we could decide. Do you know if they will allow full sizes at the Badlands? I have some friends that go up some and i can get some info from them.

    Thanks,

    Neil
