I have always been polite (or at least in my opinion) but I have caught myself a couple times lately being too polite, possibly.

Someone says something to me or I am in a situation that is sort of ackward or rushed, I say "thanks" when I don't need to. I don't have a specific example, but I know that it is not needed there.

Is this bad, I don't mean to do this...I think it's just because of the situation?

    Comments?

no problem in being too polite, as long as you dont let yourself get walked all over.

Back when I was a checker  people would do that sometimes...say "thanks" like 30 times during a transaction. That in itself made the situation awkward for me, but always brought a smile to my face (after they walked away) :haha:

If everyone was as polite and respectful as you, Steve, the world would be a much nicer place.

I'm tend to be too polite myself, up until someone confuses it with weakness, and tries to take advantage of it. Being cordial is the best way to be and if more people were, just like Can says, the world would be a better place.

It's good to be polite this day in age, my lil' monkeyman, but,a s I have experienced, it's better to hold onto that right up until you need to be very angry.

I liken it to a cigarette. I'll put up with a lot, let it burn off, but when I hit the end of this cig, I'mma beat the living hsit out of you. So stop being an ass before I stop smoking.

Same here, and the look on people's faces when they cross that line always amazes me. They act as if they have no idea what happened to cause polite to leave the building.

steve, don't worry about being to polite, it make you who you are, I have been working in a high school for 2 months now, replaceing all the windows, and it drives me NUT the whole place if filled with ignorant, discourteous kids, who wont do a thing for you, walk down the hall with a cart FULL od glass 1000 lbs worth thell look and and keep walking in your way.

Four students out of a school of 800 will actualy hold a door open, or get out of the way and tell others to do so.

be polite its a good thing.
