    Hey All,

    Happy Thanksgiving!

My project is finally on the road. Everything is going good except for a leaky pinion seal on the 14FF and mushy brakes.

I will start posting observations and pics soon.

So - my question. I am in Fresno for the rest of the week. Do any of you local Fresno guys know where I can get my brakes power-bled?

    Thanks.

Pep Boys had a 'vaccum bleed' system, is that the power bleeding everyone is talking about?
They did that with not much luck after the twenty point inspection - I passed! Everyone in the shop had to come over and look and ask what I was gonna run over - I replied anything that gets in my way....

So - I am still getting too much peddle. Needs better/more bleeding? Or proportioning valve? I have the stock D60 brakes and the Boyce disc kit on the 14 FF. (sorry Wes, it was 1/2 the price of the ORU kit and ORU was backordered)
Stopping power seems good but I still think there is too much play. The peddle stops about 3/4 - 1" from the floor boards.

Dave, got some pics of the Boyce kit? Are they pretty much like the ORU kit or different?
BTW, glad to hear the Blazer is finally on the road. [IMG] [IMG]

I haven't stuck a camera under there yet - the EPA has probably found me by now cuz the pinion seal is leaking so bad.... Hazardous duty for a camera at the moment. The calipers ended up in the 11:00/1:00 position and very clean brackets. Stay tuned....

Why would a newly rebuilt 14FF leak at the pinion? Is it that tough to get a seal in there on the first shot?

That leaking pinion seal may not be the seal.
It could be a bad yoke. I have seen the yokes have a 'groove' worn on them from the seal wearing against the 'sleeve' part of the yoke. Lack of lubrication will wear a groove into these yokes. [IMG]
You may check out that yoke and if it has a groove in it, get a 'Speedi-Sleeve' for it. Buying a new yoke is another option. [IMG]

    Doug,
We are riding in Miami Creek. You need to get a bike - Tad has one now.

Dave, it's been a while I messed around with the 14FF. I think the nut is around 1 3/8" or 1 1/2". Can't remember right now.
