    Hi All,

Hoping someone can help. I posted once long ago regarding this stuff and didn't get very far. This time, I'm bound and determined to do it. I have an Avital Alarm system in my rig. It's the Tornado2 as shown at http://www.geocities.com/rem7600/pictures/doorlock.jpg. I need to know where to hook the wires up. I am of the impression from many discussions outside of this group that I do not need to buy relays, but that I can wire into the factory system.

Can someone please clarify for me? Michael... You've had a good deal of experience with these judging by your past posts. Any thoughts? Help will be sincerely appreciated.

You might get a better responce in the audio section since all the guys that really know alarms are the stereo guys.

Good lord. The rod up that man's butt must have a rod up it's butt.

Thanks guys... Seems someone would know.

Man this board is busy since I was active here. I've been out of the game a little bit. Overwhelming the number of posts daily here now.

Will try and see if I can get booted from the audio section with the question. Will also PM dBlazer to get his suggestions.

OK, here's how I see it after mucho study time. The factory Unlock color is Black/white, the factory Lock color is Light Blue. Your problem, as far as I can tell, is that your factory system relies on a positive pulse(+12v) from the switches to activate your factory relays. Your alarm only provides a negative pulse. That is why you need a relays...to convert your negative pulse into a positve pulse. If you use the diagram labled "Positive Trigger Door Locks" that should work. Feel free to check with anyone else to verify this....this is how I remeber doing it before...back in my early days.[IMG]
