Is there a sure way to know if the power steering pump is shot or not. Besides the fact that there is no power assist. There doesn't seem to be any activity with the fluid. The level is fine, but there's no swirling. No normal pump noises though. One minute everything seemed to be working fine, and the next drive no assist.

Fluid will be black (burnt). Turn wheel full lock both sides should lug down engine. Belt could be loose.
