I need to remove my lock on my tailgate. Looked at quick in the dark. Looked like I have to strip out all the guts out of the tailgate. Is there a trick I missed somewhere?

Yes, you have to remove the regulator in order to get to the two nuts that hold the keyswitch in place. It's really no big deal. There is only 4 bolts and the entire thing can be removed. Run the window upp first, suport it on some garden furniture so it doesnt brake. Once you start poking with it it is a 2 hour job at most.. Also do a search using words like keyswitch, tailgate etc. You will get tonns of reading material.
